Construction Paper Christmas Garland
You'll need: an assortment of colorful construction paper.
Glue or paste.
A pair of scissors.
Cut construction paper into strips - 10 inches long and 1 inch wide. Always supervise children when they are using scissors.
Curl the first strip into a circle shape and glue it.

Alternating colors, slide the second strip through the center of your first circle and form another circle connected to the first and glue. You are making a chain.

Continue adding circle strips of alternating colors to your chain until it is the desired length. Drape around bannisters, walls or your christmas tree for an inexpensive decoration. It's also a fun project to share with your kids during Christmas or any time of year.

Braided Ribbon Christmas Garland
You'll need:
Several spools of variously colored ribbons.
Some sewing thread
Colorful beads (optional)
Cut three lengths of ribbon about three feet long. Four for a french braid.
Cut the ends of the ribbon on 45 degree angles. Or for that really fancy look fold ends in half and cut from the outer edge to the fold at a 45 degree angle.

Gather all your ribbons together at one end and secure with some thread. Wrap the thread around several times, double knot and trim edges.
You can use a clothespin to fasten your ribbons to a desk or table so it's easier to work your braids.
Braid your ribbons almost all the way to the end and tie off that end the same way you did the beginning.
